TIAFT2018 Poll

As you may be aware, the UK are putting a bid together for the UK to host the 2018 annual meeting of The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT). This bid will need to be presented to the TIAFT board by the next meeting later this year. Plans have been underway since London hosted the very successful 50th anniversary event for TIAFT in April 2013. The bid, and if successful the meeting, will be organised by a separate organising committee made up of members from all over the UK, mostly from the two main toxicology societies of LTG and UKIAFT. Between these groups, several proposals have already been considered and two cities have been finalised. We now ask you, the scientists of the UK, to give your opinion and support to this bid. Please read the two attached proposals from Birmingham and Manchester, and select which proposal you would like to see put before the TIAFT board.

Remember the TIAFT annual congress is an extremely large and significant event that needs to accommodate approx. 700-800 delegates and accompanying persons. The social programme is also an important part of any week long congress, and needs to be considered alongside the scientific sessions.

Finally, if you would like to be involved in any further planning of this event, should the UK be successful, please email the LTG secretary on ltg.committee@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time

Having read both proposals for the UK to host the 2018 TIAFT meeting, which city would you like to see put forward to potentially host this event?
