Vacancy Forensic Toxicologist

Located in South London, ASI is a busy bioanalytical and forensic toxicology laboratory looking to recruit a like-minded experienced Forensic Toxicologist to join our team of professional and ambitious scientists. Our laboratory is GLP/GCP compliant and ISO 17025 accredited.

This role will involve taking ownership of forensic toxicological cases as well as carrying out assays. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing reports for Coroners, the police and solicitors and for liaising with our clients to explain results. Experience of writing reports and working in a regulated laboratory is essential and experience of giving evidence in court or at Inquests would be an advantage.

The position is full-time, Monday- Friday, 0900 - 17.30 hours with 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays: a competitive salary and pension is offered.

Our portfolio includes rapid tests and laboratory tests (ELISA, EIA, PCR) for reliable diagnosis across the areas of infectious diseases, bacteriology, paediatrics, gynaecology, urology, cardiology and toxicology. Furthermore, we are at the forefront of innovative point of care test (POCT) devices and reader systems, and are thus in the position to offer equipment to not only criminal justice services, rehabilitation service, GPs and hospitals but also to laboratories and research centres. We also offer our customers laboratory diagnostic services through our partner laboratories. Thorugh our multinational teams, we offer customer service in 13 different languages, with a presence in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Scandinavia amongst others.

We are currently looking for confident and outgoing people to join the UK and Ireland team, at our newly established UK site in Ticehurst, East Sussex.

Responsibilities:

You will actively contribute to the UK and Ireland sales team. You will help the team work towards a greater market share through communicating with existing and prospective customers via phone and e-mail. Your responsibilities will include answering customer enquiries, providing quotations and participating in tenders, order processing, key account management, occasional field sales and conference/trade show attendance. The role will involve cold calling and researching new markets and opportunities.

Our requirements:

We are looking for an open, creative and personable individual with excellent communication skills

  • Previous experience in sales or telesales
  • Education or experience in a biomedical science field is desirable, but not essential
  • English at a native level is imperative. Basic understanding of German language would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to work
  • Strong work ethic and high degree of reliability, discretion and loyalty
  • Competence in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Driving licence
